Club Nautique on L’lle d’Orleans Island Quebec

After the three day run from Rimouski, Tadoussac, and Cap A A’laige, I ended up staying at the Bacchus Yacht club for a few days. Just completing 140NM I needed some down time. This was the home of the two boats I had been travelling with and it’s only 10NM from downtown Quebec city. Here I was able to do some laundry, wash the salt off the boat, and clean the algae growing on the canvas since now I was no longer in salt water. This club is situated on the south shore of this island and in doing some sightseeing I discovered that this island, at least in this side of it is a very special place with a lot of artists and unique shops and places to visit.

Right behind the Yacht club is the local church built in 1860. I went to visit it and took some pictures.

DSC01318I went back in the evening and took a sunset picture of the church which is illuminated at night.

DSC01324This is a view of the street of the little village right next to the church.

DSC01329There are many interesting little shops that sell crafts and souveniers.

DSC01331One of the nicer garden displays with a water art and beautiful flowers.

DSC01333Even came across a new windlass for pulling up the anchor! See… nautical things everywhere you go.
